Kurt Stake has more than 30 years of experience in forensic accounting, quantification of economic damages, business valuation, fraud investigations, and expert witness testimony.

He has calculated lost profits and business income losses, lost earnings for individuals, and damages related to fraud schemes, theft of trade secrets, partnership disputes, contract breaches, construction disputes, insolvency proceedings, matters of family law and marital dissolution, commercial insurance claims and subrogation. He has also investigated failed banking institutions on behalf of the FDIC.

Earlier in his career Mr. Stake worked for two major international public accounting firms and managed forensic accounting matters not only in the United States but also Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Canada. He has been a featured instructor at national AICPA seminars, the California State Bar Association, local CSCPA seminars, and at several major universities at both the undergraduate and master’s levels.

He holds a variety of industry certifications and has extensive experience as an expert witness testifying over 60 times on State and Federal matters for both plaintiffs and defendants.
